Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs the use of Umbra Hosting’s hosting services. Violations of the AUP may result in suspension or termination of your service.

Unacceptable content

  • Wikileaks mirrors
  • Child Pornography and/or kidnapping material
  • Provide material support or resources (or to conceal or disguise the nature, location, source, or ownership of material support or resources) to any organization(s) designated by the United States government as a foreign terrorist organization pursuant to section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act
  • Violations of human and animal rights, including the display of acts of cruelty and other abuse
  • IRC and associated applications (including bouncers, “bots”, etc.)
  • Automation tools, auto typers, macros and bots used to circumvent restrictions on games or other applications (e.g. RuneScape bots)
  • Circumvention of and/or provision of instructions to circumvent security measures
  • Proxy Scripts/Anonymizers
  • Proxy detection scripts
  • Pirated Software/Warez
  • AutoSurf/PTC/PTS/PPC sites
  • Malware (malicious software) and/or botnets
  • IP Scanners and network or systems abuse scripts
  • Bruteforce Programs/Scripts/Applications
  • Mail Bombers/Spam Scripts
  • File Dump/Mirror Scripts (similar to rapidshare)
  • Commercial Audio Streaming
  • Escrow/Bank Debentures
  • High-Yield Interest Programs (HYIP) or Related Sites
  • Investment Sites (FOREX, E-Gold Exchange, Second Life/Linden Exchange, Ponzi, MLM/Pyramid Scheme)
  • Sale of any controlled substance without prior proof of appropriate permit(s)
  • Violations of import/export restrictions
  • Prime Banks Programs
  • Lottery/Gambling Sites
  • MUDs/RPGs/PBBGs
  • Hateful/Racist/Harassment oriented sites including material posted to incite violence
  • Hacker focused sites/archives/programs
  • Sites promoting illegal activities
  • Forums and/or websites that distribute or link to warez/pirated/illegal content
  • Bank Debentures/Bank Debenture Trading Programs
  • Fraudulent Sites (Including, but not limited to sites listed at aa419.org & escrow-fraud.com) and other forms of “phishing” (emails/forms/sites used to gather personal information from unsuspecting individuals)
  • Mailer Pro
  • Broadcast or Streaming of Live Sporting Events (UFC, NASCAR, FIFA, NFL, MLB, NBA, WWE, WWF, etc)
